Freon 12 or scientifically speaking Dichlorodifluoromethane (CAS 75-71-8) was used in older cars up until the mid 1990s and is no longer produced in pure form when production of R-12 ceased in 1996. It is very hard to find and quite expensive if you can even find it at all. The price on pure Virgin R12 Refrigerant continues to rapidly rise every year due to the scarce availability of this Dupont Ig-Lo Refrigerant. This cylinder has been sitting in my warehouse and is a bit dusty. As you can see it still has the original cardboard box. The cylinder is factory prime. Upon cleanup by knocking off some dust. I made photos. Due to the lack of production and some people asking over $ 1,000.00 per 30 lb. cylinder on R 12.  I am really almost giving this away. I am selling it for less than I paid which is very unusual on R-12 Refrigerant. I am sure this is probably one of the lowest prices or best deals you will find in the U.S.A. on True & Pure Virgin R-12 Dupont Refrigerant rather than a poor quality refrigerant substitute blend or mix. 

This is the Real Genuine Dupont Made In America Refrigerant 12 and not some knockoff or cheap synthetic import blend. Some of the synthetics can be hazardous to your AC system. The Real R-12 works very well and there is no real substitute for the older vehicle air conditioners that actually works as well from my experiences with many cars in the conversion scare time period. Today's cars were designed to work with r-134a and they do fine with this. The older cars when converted to r-134a did not do so well for the most part and they are much slower to cool down when compared to the real r-12 performance.

Many complain with older cars that when the car is idling with the AC on after doing their so called conversions. They can hardly even tell their Air Conditioner is actually running due to the poor performance they are experiencing. A system that was designed for R-12 properly charged will often offer a faster cool down time than many newer cars today with 134-a refrigerant widely used in modern automotive Air Conditioning Systems. 

You can see in the photos the original Igloo Branded plastic wrapper on the picture below above comes on the valve when you buy these is unbroken along with the Schrader Valve Covering the outlet port to contain the refrigerant in the cylinder until it is tapped for use. As you can see in the pictures this cylinder is untapped and waiting for an AC or refrigeration service person who really needs this. R-12 is used in many restaurant refrigeration and various cooling equipment pieces today and there is still a strong demand for this product. The only way to get r-12 today since production has ceased is to buy a synthetic blend or convert. This is not Frost or Freeze 12 or other imitation but the real IgLo Dupont Refrigerant 12. R-12 boast a faster cool down time than R-134 and is still in many old vehicles. I have collected various vehicles over the years and when the r-12 scare happened in the 90s. I stocked up as a safety measure against this problem.  As with everything else on this site. I have probably too much of everything and am just trying to reclaim some space. I have sold quite a few older vehicles that still used this and I don't need this full tank. I have this virgin untapped 30 LB tank of R-12 in it's original cardboard box with it's original plastic seal so you know it has never been cracked open. This is again Dupont Ig-Lo R-12 and not an imitation or knockoff. This stuff last forever and does not corrode or expire. It is waiting for someone needing cool air or cool r-12 refrigeration again.

Again these are most expensive if you could even get your hands on one. I am not trying to make a fortune on this. Just trying to get some of my money back out of this. If you need Igloo Freon 12 it is safe to say this is probably one of the best deals in the World today. I saw these sell for well over a thousand dollars in the r-12 to r-134a conversion scare period. Again I was just trying to protect myself again price gouging when I bought this.

The normal street price today on a full 30 LB tank of Freon 12 is now on average at $500.00 to Upwards of Over $1,000.00

Again this cylinder is untapped and it has the original iglo branded plastic wrapper on it as pictured. I paid way more than this at the time of the purchase during the R-12 phase out or "scare", Now it's simply not available and I no longer own any R-12 cars so I have no need for this anymore at this time.
